Whatever your physical ability, and however far you want to go the local area has something for you. Paths are generally well made so hiking gear is not essential.
For the independent walker the coastline within easy reach is spectacular, providing almost 100 miles of stunning walking along the GR34. The stunning scenery ranges from the vast sands of the bay of Mont St Michel in the east, to the towering granite cliffs of Cap Feral in the west. All levels of hikers are catered for in these suggested routes.
You're unlikely to see any crowds or queues here, and on any sunny day strolling is popular with the locals and easy to combine with lunch or stops for an ice cream. There are also many country walks in land and on the dedicated Voies Vertes (green ways), one of the most spectacular being the canal between Dinan and Rennes. Parking is easy, the walking is easy and you can easily take in a chateau or castle on the way.
